We had set the alarm for 4:00 a.m. but we woke up at 3:00 a.m. After tossing and turning for about 15 minutes we decided to get up and get to the airport early. We showered and finished packing. We decided to pack our jackets so we would not have to handle them during the flights. We had cold pizza, leftover from last night, and yogurt for breakfast.
Deb checked out while I got the car. It seemed colder than any time that we were in the park. We arrived at the Bozeman Airport and unloaded the bags. Deb watched them while I parked the car. Since Avis has given up their spot at the airport we can not use the Rental Car Return area. I parked in the regular parking lot and left the ticket in the car.
The Bozeman Airport had changed from the last time we were there. We had to check in at a kiosk. There were 7 or 9 stations for Delta. They did have an attendant to help it you had any problems. You put the checked bags on the scale and they were tagged and you were given your receipt. The boarding passes were printed and you could get a printout of your itinerary. We got through significantly faster than before. This will help as you do not have to wait for people that are planning or making changes to their trip.
We went through security with no problems. They made everyone take off their shoes. We did not have to do this at Harrisburg. We also had to take the video camera and computer out of the bags and send them through separately. We had to do that for the computer at Harrisburg, but not for the video camera.
Our flight to Salt Lake City was uneventful except that our flight attendant was just in training. Our flight was the first flight that she had to handle by herself. Her trainer was on board, but she had to do everything by herself. She forgot some of the safety instructions at the beginning and had to came back to give them. She also had a lot of trouble with the complimentary beverages. This was a real short flight and she did not have enough time. Otherwise she did real good and will improve with experience. This flight must have been the "baby flight" as a lot of parents brought their babies and toddlers on board.
We had sufficient time to make our connections without rushing. The flight to Cincinnati was good. Deb checked for the bota bottle in Cincinnati but they did not have it. The flight to Harrisburg was good. They have a new terminal at Harrisburg and handle the checked baggage better than before. We had to go to the parking garage to get our parking shuttle. We finally arrive home at 6:30 p.m. Heidi was glad to see us and we had to play with her for about an hour.
TSA had opened two of our checked bags. This was to be expected as they check anything with packed electronics now. Our FRS radios, scanners and chargers for the cameras send up the red flag. Unfortunately they did not properly close the handles on the duffle bags and the baggage handlers managed to tear one off. We will have to get that bag repaired before our next trip.
