We had set the alarm for 4:00 a.m. but we woke up at 3:30 a.m. After tossing and turning for about 15 minutes we decided to get up and get an early start. We showered and finished packing. We decided to pack our jackets so we would not have to handle them during the flights. We had cold pizza, leftover from last night.
We finished packing the car. It was very icy so Deb had to take baby steps to keep from falling. She checked out while I took the car to the front of the hotel. It seemed colder than any time that we were in the park. We arrived at the Bozeman Airport and unloaded the bags. Deb watched them while I parked the car. Since Avis has given up their spot at the airport we cannot use the Rental Car Return area. I parked in the regular parking lot and left the ticket in the car.
We had to check in at a kiosk in the Bozeman Airport. There were 7 or 9 stations for Delta. They did have attendants to help if you had any problems. We put the checked bags on the scale and they were tagged and we were given our receipt. The boarding passes were printed and we got a printout of our itinerary. We got through significantly faster than before. This helped as we did not have to wait for people that were planning or making changes to their trip.
We went through security with no problems. They made everyone take off their shoes. We did not have to do this at Harrisburg. We also had to take the computer out of the bag and send it through separately. We had to do that for the computer at Harrisburg too.

We took off late for Salt Lake City as they had to de-ice the plane first. Our flight to Salt Lake City was uneventful and the pilot made up the time that we lost for the de-icing. We actually arrived early so we had time to get our traditional breakfast at the airport. We had sufficient time to make our connections without rushing.
The flight to Atlanta took off an hour late as they had to de-ice this plane too. Tey only had one runway open so we had to wait for all of the incoming flights. It was a good flight and the pilot made up about 30 minites of the time that was lost. We had to rush to make our connection to Harrisburg. The flight to Harrisburg was good. They have a new terminal at Harrisburg and handle the checked baggage better than before. We had to go to the parking garage to get our parking shuttle. We finally arrived home at 6:30 p.m. The dogs were glad to see us and we had to play with them for about an hour. Unfortunately Fergie got a bladder infection so I took her to the vet the next day.
TSA had opened three of our checked bags. None of our bags were opened out of Harrisburg.
We did have some bad news when we got home. PennDOT decided to do us a favor while we were gone and moved the shoulder of the road to within a foot of our old house. It was about 6 feet from the house before. They removed four holly bushes and over 200 daffodils. We also had a lot of perennials that were destroyed. Probably the biggest loss was the hand cut stone wall that surrounded the garden. The cut stones were over a hundred years old and they used them as fill further down the road. There is a spring in the basement of the old house and they destroyed the outlet to the spring. I guess they were trying to give us an indoor swimming pool. This is not surprising as they cut down all of our forsythia bushes and pussy willow trees last fall. A few years ago they cut down our roses and redirected the runoff from the road into our drain field and the driveway leading to the barn. We had to replace the driveway which washed out and rebuild the bridge over the raceway.
