Black Sand Basin is located to the west of the Upper Geyser Basin. The Black Sand Basin gets its name from the Obsidian sand and gravel found throughout the basin. This area was originally known as the Sunlight Basin. It is a relatively small collection of springs. It is open to the public and has a boardwalk system. This is a virtual tour of Black Sand Basin. |
