I took a few days off since I was working with the local election process. I got to work at many of the different polling sites and it was a very enlightening experience.
This area is heavy Republican. Registration is about 7 to 1 in favor of the Republicans. They were expecting about 90% participation. They had 78% in 2004. The Democrats increased their number of voters but a lot of the Republicans stayed home. The final numbers were about 69%, the smallest percentage for a Presidential election in decades. About 20% of the Republicans that did vote, voted for Obama. The final tally was only 3 to 1 for McCain. That was very interesting.
Now I have finished so I will be able to start with the thoughts and photos again.
